Life Is Good
May. 7th, 2011 10:50 pmI've just spent entirely too much of the last three days reading the Nanny!John and Sherlock's DI blogs from
emungere's Ain't Seen the Sunshine verse. Lovely stuff, and it has me inspired to actually start blogging my life. (Yeah, I know the blogs are complete and total fiction, but a lot of what's in them is the silly day-to-day stuff we all have.) Whether I can keep it going or not is an entirely different question, but I'm going to try.
As a kid, I enjoyed the non-academic projects, but I'm sure my mother hated them as much as I do now. (Or maybe not. I think she was happier with domestic things than I am now. Wish I could ask her.) Max's Spanish class, and all of the language classes at his school, had a "cultural thing" on Friday, for which they had to bring in food. (A couple got to do the paper products, chips and drinks thing, but it was first come first served, and Max is incapable of informing of us of these things on his own.) His initial thought was churros, but Goofy and I convinced him that cookies were better. Then, since Max is capable of basic cooking, we told him he'd be making them.
He did, too, although I did need to be present and involved since Max needed to be taught the techniques. (Goofy got out of it since he was flying home.) The cookies (Spanish wedding cookies according to Cooks.com) were good and seemed to be a success.
And now we're all staying up until midnight so Max can give me my Mother's Day gift. (He and his father hate waiting for things.) I got my flowers on Friday, so they're prettifying my very messy house.
And I'll leave it there for tonight. Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers who read this.
